Welcome to Romania’s Liga 1
By: sasha | September 22nd, 2008With great pride I would like to welcome everyone to The Offside’s new home for the Romania’s Liga 1. While Football is Romania is recognized as one of the finest in the world, unfortunately many outside of the region rarely have a chance to watch or read of league play. I am very deeply honoured to have the chance to introduce the league to you and I am confident that many of you will become fans of clubs and overall league play. As part of my review I will be going through domestic league competition plus provide insight into CFR Cluj and Steaua Bucureşti in their Champions League and Dinamo Bucureşti, Rapid Bucureşti and FC Timişoara in the UEFA Cup and of course the many great players.
I hope to hear from many readers as I begin this and my other blog on the Ukrainian Premier League.
Thank you,
Sasha

thank you everyone for welcoming wishes. I will make my first posting in the morning and respect your suggestions.
Musab – special thanks to you because you were the first blog I read at this site and I always observe Yellow and Red!
So much has changed from the time the time of Mircea Lucescu. Do you ever see more Romanian players to Galatasaray?

Sasha- Back when Galatasaray had the “Wonder Romanians”, the club didn’t have the kind of cash they have now, they went and got players on the cheap in Romania and in some cases sold them to European clubs for a pretty good profit.
Take for example Adrian Ilie being sold to Valencia for a bit under 6 million Euros.

Dumitru – Cricova, that is just outside of Chişinău. Do you follow Football in Ukraine and Divizia Naţională as well? Sheriff is unbeatable right now?
Musab – I understand. Sad though because of the connection and how many fans in Romania they had.
