Dinamo BucureÅŸti overwhelmed TimiÅŸoara 3-0 in a hot tempered match that saw the ‘Câinii RoÅŸii finish two men down and TimiÅŸoara punished with two own-goals. Twelve minutes in TimiÅŸoara defender MiloÅ¡ Brezinský was the victim of the first own goal that came off a free kick into the box with fellow defender Marián ÄŒiÅ¡ovský adding his name to the unfortunate list with twenty-two minutes remaining. Romanian capped veteran Ionel Dănciulescu scored in-between the two own goals seven minutes after the break on a beautiful played long ball that he volleyed in off the left post and in.

Unirea Voluntari Urziceni maintained pace with Dinamo Bucureşti with a 3-1 victory over Oţelul Galaţi. In a odd twist the match was very tightly played and without a score at the break. However within a four minute span after the re-start three goals were scored. Six minutes after the break Marius Pena opened the scoring for Galaţi after a massive attacking flourish and he quickly struck a loose ball into the goal. However Răzvan Pădureţu leveled the match only two minutes later. Tiberiu Bălan followed two minutes later heading in a perfect cross into the net from close range with Cristian Dănălache sealing off the match, heading in a free-kick with seven minutes remaining.

Cosmin Năstăsie doubled the margin six minutes after the hour mark with Daniel BălaÅŸa putting the match away with eleven minutes remaining.

BraÅŸov fought defending champions CFR Cluj to a draw with sharpshooter Attila Hadnagy giving the underdogs the lead nine minutes in with a perfectly weighted through ball, brought him into the open. Still needing to out maneuver the Cluj ‘keeper he netted the goal from what looked to be an impossible angle. However the defending champions leveled the match five minutes before the break and Dani headed in a free kick.

Gaz Metan MediaÅŸ edged Politehnica IaÅŸi 1-0 as Claudiu Boaru scored four minutes after the break as he poached on a rebound, scoring from a tight angle.

Pandurii Târgu Jiu and Gloria Bistriţa played to a 1-1 draw.
The Vampirii AlbaÅŸtri opened the scoring only two minutes in with Pandurii’s Milanko RaÅ¡ković finding an equalizer two minutes later

FC Vaslui overtook Otopeni 2-0 with Marko Ljubinković goal seven minutes after the break and Lucian Burdujan adding the second as time ran down.

And finally the great battle between Steaua BucureÅŸti and Rapid BucureÅŸti ended in a tough-as-nails nil draw. The mark of this match was the tough play and close marking. Opportunities were minimal as both teams fought hard for space on the pitch.
